Welcome to Memory Store

Memory Store gives your AI tools persistent memory. Record something in Claude, recall it in ChatGPT, reflect on it in Claude Code. Your context follows you across tools and sessions.

This is early access — things may break and we're actively building. Your feedback shapes what ships next.

Get Connected

Pick your tool and follow the steps. Setup takes under a minute.

Gemini does not currently support adding custom MCP servers.

1

Open Connectors

Go to claude.ai/settings/connectors and click “Add custom connector”.

The button is at the bottom of the page — scroll down if you don't see it right away. Requires a paid plan (Pro or Max).

2

Enter the Memory Store URL

URL: https://memory.store/mcp
3

Complete OAuth and start a new conversation

Complete the sign-in when prompted, then say “check in” — if Memory Store responds with a thread, you're connected.

Something not working? Got ideas?

Every piece of feedback goes straight to the team. Bug reports, feature requests, general thoughts — all welcome.

What you can do

Once connected, you can:

  • Check in — start or resume a conversation thread. Memory Store orients you with context from previous sessions.
  • Record — save anything to memory. Just tell your AI to remember it.
  • Recall — search across everything you've saved. Supports time filters and negative cues.

Frequently asked questions

Upgrading from the old version
Remove the existing Memory Store MCP server from your settings first, then follow the setup steps above to add it fresh. The old local version will conflict with the new hosted version if both are present.
Adding custom instructions
In Claude Desktop, go to Settings → General → "Custom Instructions" and add any context you want Claude to always have — like your role, preferences, or how you want Memory Store used. Claude Code supports this via CLAUDE.md files in your project.
Seeing 'no result received'?
This usually means the MCP server isn't connected properly. Restart your AI tool, check that the Memory Store server is listed in your settings, and try again. If it persists, remove and re-add the server.
Connection keeps dropping?
Restart your AI tool and reconnect. If it keeps happening, remove the Memory Store server from your settings, add it again, and complete the OAuth flow to get a fresh session.
Getting auth errors?
Remove the Memory Store server from your settings, add it again, and complete the OAuth flow. This refreshes your session.
ChatGPT keeps asking for permission?
ChatGPT's MCP support is newer than Claude's. It may ask for permission on each tool call — this is expected for now. If you hit rate limits, wait a moment and try again. We're actively improving compatibility.
Nothing being saved to memory?
Memory Store doesn't record everything by default — you need to tell your AI to remember something. Say "remember this" or "save this to memory" and it will. You can also ask it to check in at the start of a conversation to load prior context.
Reporting bugs from a conversation
Tell your AI "report an issue" followed by a description. Memory Store has a built-in bug reporting tool that sends it straight to us.
